![]() I'm in exact same boat down in west Florida in a major city. Would be interesting to see a service mode recording of the phone sticking to SA when you run a speedtest, if anyone has them. If you’re already on iOS 14.5+ and are experiencing issues - switch your phone to LTE only until Apple releases a fix.ĮTA: I’ve heard some reports of similar things happening with Samsung devices, but I haven’t been able to confirm it myself. That’s what the “5G Auto” setting is supposed to do.ĭon’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of my iPhone 12 - but it’s staying on iOS 14.4 or below until this gets fixed. But if you stick on that low capacity connection, you will get slow speeds. That said, using 5G-only or LTE-only while idling is a fine solution that’s what most phones do anyway, and 2 connections are expensive on energy if you’re not using them. The iPhone 12 has a 2815 mAh battery, while the S21 has a 4000mAh battery. I speculate that this may be due to complaints of NSA battery drain, given their phones have physically smaller batteries than their competitors, while using the same Qualcomm X55 modems. This is something that every other phone does, but Apple has implemented it poorly and refuses to fix it. The phone gets stuck on Standalone 5G (5G only), when it should switch to Non-Standalone 5G (5G+LTE) while actively downloading. 95822įor the majority of users, this problem is occurring because of a software bug on iOS 14.5+ that I’ve talked about here many times before, and Apple refuses to publicly acknowledge. Now im eating my words.įor reference im in the Sacramento area. I just want to know how does signal get WORSE? I praised and promoted tmo to all my family and friends because hands down, it could not be beaten in terms of quality and price. Obviously its not my PHONES as im not the only Tmobile customer experiencing this. The sad thing is im in BUSY areas, not rural and when I call T-mo to complain, their coverage map shows no problems. Then there's plenty of times where I just have the NO signal icon. ![]() There's so many times when my phone will say I have 5G with 3-5 bars but actually have NO service or service like a snail. that service has quite frankly taken a shit. I've been noticing over the past year, mostly when I got the Note 10+ and now the S21 Ultra. I also live in busy city areas and not in the middle of nowhere. Back when Legere was CEO my service was EXCELLENT. I'm still on the Simple Choice Plan from back in the day and i'll have anywhere from 6-10 lines throughout the year. I've been a T-mo customer going on 8 years. r/tmoemployees: The sub for employees only Slow Data Speeds? - Read this to learn before you post!
